APPROVED ELECTRICIAN

We're looking for Approved Electricians to join our team. A key role within our organisation, our approved electricians lead small teams of electricians, apprentices and improvers to ensure installation works are delivered to an exceptionally high standard. The role is hands on, and varied each day.  You will have the opportunity to undertake tasks including; 

 

  • Commercial and industrial electrical installations.
  • Inspection & Testing of electrical systems.
  • Leading small site teams.
  • Ensuring the development of apprentices and trainees.
  • Client liaison.
  • Safety inspections of small sites.


To be successful in this role we are looking for you to posses the following: 


  • Completion of an Electrical Installation apprenticeship programme, including both Practical and Theory training (C&G, NVQ and AM2).
  • City & Guilds 2382; BS7671 18th Edition or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 & 2395 in the inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • A high level of motivation to succeed within a fast growing organisation.
  • Full UK driving license or the ability to travel between various worksites.
  • The ability to obtain security clearance for access to both Ministry Of Defence and Ministry Of Justice sites.  


We have a wide variety of flexible working arrangements available, and are very open to discussing what terms work best for our individual team members. Agreements for up to 45 hours per week are available.

ELECTRICAL INSPECTION & TEST ENGINEER

Following recent contract wins we're looking to expand our Electrical Testing and Inspection team. Working across a variety of public and private sector sites including MOD and NHS you will have the opportunity to undertake tasks including; 

 

  • Inspection & Testing of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Completion of remedial and emergency repair works.
  • Arranging and supervising electrical shutdowns. 
  • Liaising with the end user around access for working.
  • Leading small site teams.
  • Ensuring the development of apprentices and trainees.
  • Ensuring the safety of yourself and others around you


To be successful in this role we are looking for you to posses the following: 


  • Completion of an Electrical Installation apprenticeship programme, including both Practical and Theory training (C&G, NVQ and AM2).

ELECTRICIAN

We're looking for multiple Electricians to join our team.  These are important roles within our organisation as the installations produced by our electricians are the backbone to the services we offer. As an electrician you will have the opportunity to undertake tasks including; 

 

  • Commercial and industrial electrical installations.
  • Inspection & Testing of electrical systems.
  • Ensuring the development of apprentices and trainees.
  • Client liaison.

APPRENTICE ELECTRICIAN

APPLICATIONS FOR OUR 2025 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME ARE NOW CLOSED. CHECK BACK HERE FOR FURTHER DETAILS ON OUR 2026 INTAKE


Are you looking to start your career and develop the skills to become a qualified electrician? If so then you'll be pleased to hear we run an annual Apprenticeship Programme.


As an apprentice electrician you can expect to receive top class training both on-site and at the training centre. You will have the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation / Electrical Maintenance. 


With MEC no two days are the same. Your on-site training will predominantly be on commercial and industrial systems across a variety of sites in the region, including MOD, NHS and MOJ to name a few. 


You will be provided a dedicated Apprentice Mentor who will guide you through the programme, offering assistance and advice where required. 


 On completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will be a fully qualified electrician with the opportunity for further development and training within the organisation. 


To be successful in this role we are looking for you to posses the following: 


  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent GCSE results.
  • A high level of motivation to complete the apprenticeship programme and develop your skills within a fast growing organisation.
  • The ability to obtain security clearance for access to both Ministry Of Defence and Ministry Of Justice sites.
