WHO WE ARE

  Mike started his career with SSE Contracting in 2004 before leaving to start MEC in 2021. Mike has vast experience of managing and delivering Mechanical and Electrical Projects with combined values up to £4M. In recent years Mike has specialised in healthcare, at Derriford Hospital in particular. Having held AP Positions for various clients, including complex systems incorporating multiple HV supplies, generators and UPS’s all interlinked to provide N+1+1 power, Mike has detailed technical knowledge of secure systems. 

  Having worked in the Mechanical & Electrical contracting industry across the south west of England for 34 years, Steve has held senior positions in ADE, SSE Contracting and now MEC. Steve has extensive experience working in secure and sensitive environments such as the MOD and NHS. In recent years Steve has managed the delivery of complex HV, Data Comms and Mechanical, Electrical and Building upgrades across the Devonport Dockyard site, including the upgrade of the Devonport Dockyard Fibre Backbone and SRC Amenity Area Refurbishments. 

 In 2004 Brendon joined SSE Contracting as an apprentice electrician. Having stayed with the business for 17 years he was part of the start up of MEC in 2021. Previously holding the Business Managers role at SSEC, Brendon has held responsibility for commercial and business management of a large M&E Contracting business. Prior to the business managers role at SSE Contracting, Brendon delivered M&E projects ranging from £1k to £3M on sites including Derriford Hospital, EDF Energy, Britannia Royal Naval College and Devonport Dockyard.

Matt’s career started in 2005 as an apprentice electrician with SSE Contracting. After working across sites including Derriford Hospital, Plymouth College and Plymouth University, Matt took a leading role in the delivery of works on the Devonport Dockyard site. Having lead projects up to a value of £3.5M Matt specialised in the development of the Quality and Inspection & Test Plans for the completion of works in extremely high-risk area’s including the MOD’s Nuclear Submarine Refit Facility prior to his becoming a director of MEC in 2021.
